Oh To Be A Marathon Runner!My friend Kate and myself, Wana be in the London Marathon next year, But we don't know how to go about it, Nothing's at all quite clear. The thing is this, it's a bit different, Kate is blind; oh woe are we! So the Marathon for us will be odd, She pushes me, and I'm her eyes to see! Now I guess it sounds a little crazy, The blind, pushing the blind so to speak! But we really wana be in that Marathon, So It's positive energy's that we seek! Now I can't do it on my own, Cos I need pushing in my chair! And Kate can't see, so I'm her eyes, I guess we're both knackered, that's fair! So then, the question is this; Oh were on earth do we start; To gather the info we need? Cos we want to do this, from the heart! To be in the Marathon would be fantastic, And though we know that we'd be last, It really doesn't matter to us, As long as we get there after everyone's passed! Passed us as they legit on, And leave us far behind… But that's just cool with us you see, Cos we don't really mind! We just want to do our bit for the disabled, And of course, make money for those in need, Like the kidney foundation; For patients in dire need! So there we'll be on the day, All ready at the start, And then we will sidle off into the sun, With a great bright smile in our heart! Now Kate's poor legs are knackered, And she can't walk without much pain, It's a struggle for her at the best of times, But we are determined to take the strain! As for me, what can I say? Except my body's shot to hell! And I have to be quite honest, If you look at me, I guess you'd tell! I think cos I am knackered, The wheelchair gives me away, I have to admit, I need a lightweight one! Well, I guess that's safe to say! Cos Kate is gona be pushing me! 26 miles, oh woe are we! But yep, we are determined to do it! We are as nutty as each other you see! And I will be Kate's eyes, And tell her were to go, And let her know when stuff is in the way, Cos in honesty, Kate just won't know! I'll be her eyes, she'll be my legs! We will swap them for that feat! And take that Marathon all the way! Now won't that be pretty neat! We all have a dream to aspire to, And this is the one; yep it's the one for we! So I guess that we could safely say; Its gona be a day to see! This is a dream of both of ours, And we so hope that it can come true! Me and Kate, oh what a feat! It would be the best time for us two! We are determined to do this, And nothing will get in the way! Be sure we will see this through! And be there on that day! One way or another!
