Petals In The Grass

The Grey Man

I sit in this institute
Waiting for my sanity
Legs shaking, arms trembling
There is an old man stricken
He looks sad
I feel for him
His face ashen
He talked about WW2 a little
And the sixties and seventies
But the story in the eighties
That caught my ears
He talked about losing his wife
It was very sad
Tears began to fall
He said that he does not want to be here
I know how he feels

The next morning
There was a commotion
I knew what it was
That man hanged himself
Some how it brought a smile to my face
I would love too join him
And meet his wife
But I think that they want to be alone
To him I raise my glass
