Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Dosing Up

Tie me up in chair,
Force feed me you truths,
Because willingly, I won't
Listen to the endless words
You're always hurling at my head.

It's as if your convictions are medicinal.

The time for me to listen
Was ages ago, when I was
Somewhat new to this lifetime.

Stop sling-shooting these pills of truths to my mouth.

I am a 21 year old with a job,
I've a life now, and a
Prerogative.
I'm old enough to know
When to skip a hit or two.

My notions are my own.
I seldom nurture you with
My corrupt ideals.
I've never had a need
To be this way.

I need not your pharmaceutical nonsense.

I know you think
A hefty dose of your opinion
Will set me straight, help me truly see
Your purposes and ways.

How come I always feel like I overdosed?
