Dark, gray clouds fill the air
With putrid stench of pollution
The animals nervously stare
Frantic, yet there is no solution
Poisoned drops start to fall
Washing life down the drain
Nature screams an unheard call
Scoured clean with acid rain
Fresh waters reek of foulness and rank
Fish that inhabit them have now mutated
Into an unrecognizable bizarre aquatic flank
Meanwhile various creatures are annihilated
Also known as The Unseen Plague
Undetected for years of devastation
This defilement is very vague,
Yet leaves us lifetimes of contamination
It affects everything within short or distant reach
Nothing can escape its invoked, deadly touch
First we must learn ourselves, then we can teach
Future generations, the secrets to prevention of such
Fossil fuel impurities form a noxious paste
Sulfur, nitrogen, and a hint of hydrogen chloride
Human evolutions destructive effects of waste
Threaten to institute our extinction worldwide
It is our decision, if you will, the "People's Choice"
To demobilize this catastrophic manifestation
For us to harmonize in agreement with one voice
And give termination to unsanctified acidic precipitation
