The golden sun glows-all
Glittery through the trees;
And newly warms the
Cool springtime breeze.
It feels so good!
That warmth on my skin!
And I am as happy; as nature's
Children, for the new day that's
To begin.
I don't think where I'm going.
I don't worry where I'm from.
I just join in nature's jubilee;
Singing all the while;
And dancing round and around
Until soon the sun is a dizzy smile.
Now with my jeans rolled up,
And my toes all bare;
I wander down to the creek
By a mudbank; just over there.
My feet dangle limply;
The wet grass is my bed.
I stretch out and lie;
freeing all thoughts from my head.
The sky is a vision of velvety blue.
The tree tops rustle slightly;
Shaking off their morning dew.
And I hold my breath;
For I can scarcely believe that
Such beauty's been created
For you and for me.
