These ones I love
Scenes of Autumn
The sun hides! The brisk wind blows!
I pull close my coat and curl my toes.
The leaves are racing down the street.
Dancing gaily at my feet.
Pumpkins and scarecrows on windows everywhere-
Say Halloween will soon be visiting there.
Gets dark at six and kids come from outside.
Begging hot cocoa to warm their insides.
Fires crackle brightly on hearth and stone.
No truer words stand, than "Home Sweet Home."
Warm quilts piled high on bed after bed;
Keep us all cozy, from toe to head.
And we snuggle down in and pull them up high,
As we gaze out our windows at a moonlit sky.
When the new dawn comes, brisk as before;
My toes search for slippers on the cold, bare floor.
I scamper to the window to catch morning's first light-
Thanking God for His autumn; a patchwork delight.
