The Piano Man

From his hat
I saw him unpack it
He pulled a black cat
Then from his jacket
A baby grand
Before my eyes
I saw it expand
To full size
Under that moon
Saw the cat tap dance
To a Gershwin tune
Of romance
I yelled encore
He nodded to me
Then played one more
A fugue in C
The dancing cat
With a little sigh
Got in the hat
After waving goodbye
And the piano man
Faded out of sight
As off he ran
Into the night
Putting the piano
Into his jacket
I saw it go
I saw him pack it
And i was alone
With nothing to say
So on my own
Carried on my way
