Poetic Verses

Only Me

Will you want me when my head is bent,
sorrow heaving, tears all spent - and unfold, will you,
my hands from prayer to hold them in your palms
with care - and beside me on my weary way
will you close, forever, stay; to comfort worry
leaving me never, in your hurry, as into your day you enter free
Will you still want only me

Will you want me when all I give is all I am
and all I have to live; and die I could
with empty heart but never would unless apart and so
you hold my heart in capture, keeping with it
such endless rapture; so tell me why you dwell but there,
as I wonder in despair of why and we
and will you still want only me

Will you want me, as I want you,
from now 'til life's depart,
and through, eternity beyond all living,
a time to transcend taking or giving, in endless flight
above starry wonder of love's plight; but just take me
that I might see
will you still want only me
