I thought I heard you calling
The light shines brightly
Through the tears in my eyes
The bright coloured red
Of the cloudfilled skies
The fiery red ball
Of the sun going down
Burning through my fears
Drying up my tears
A lonely form on the hilltop
A spirit all forlorn
A wretched soul
Who's heart has been torn
You left me so long ago
And to far off lands you went
Left me sitting lonely
But this you couldn't know
You had no choice in leaving
It was time for you to go
The shades of death hung over
And time began to slow
You left me crying
Each day I climb the hill
A vain hope of seeing you
But I keep on trying
You left me with a promise
That from the clouds I'd hear your cries
So each day I listen for your call
And sit and watch the skies
I sit and watched as the sun sinks
Slipping quietly over the edge
And I heard the silent whisper
Of your voice upon the winds
A voice sang
Calling softly in the distance
A waft upon the breeze
Heard by chance?
The winds of change
Brought your voice across to me
Too long away, too far off
So you I couldn't see
But I heard your voice
A whisper on my mind
I sat and listened quietly
When I thought I heard you calling
