 ode to a mother
The sun,high in the sky,
makes the snow shine,
almost blinding,
especially to a cat.

She makes her way through,
using her speed and agility,
her babies are hungry,
and she needs to feed them.

the snow fall is getting heavy,
making it rough on the mother,
slipping on the face of the mountain
a couple of times
but not stopping,
she hears her children calling to her,
although she is 5 miles away

she heads back to the den
slowly treading through the snow,
she smells the others near by
and is cautious of the path
she takes.

1 mile from the den,
her babies cries are louder,
a little ways up from where she was,
a mass of snow was headed her way
just as she turned in the direction ,
of the den the snow ball came down...

....being a cat and being agile and quick
she missed being buried under the snow,
with the burst of speed she used to miss it
she was now at the opening
of her den,
as she sat there panting
one of her cubs,
came  up to her and rubbed his body on hers,
happy that his mom was now home again.

The love of a mother to a child,
is one of the most strongest emotions
all living beings have,
it is a loving,warm,sometimes stern,and almost
always protective emotion.
