Your Ashes & The Ocean
My annual beach trip
always includes a stop at the pier
where we laid you to rest
under the rippling waters lies your spirit
succumbed to beauty finally you are perfect
the angels walk with you
and white is your color up there
while down here all we have is.....
Your Ashes & the ocean
a combination you always wanted
wishes fulfilled
sadly too soon
taken from all of us
no all that is left
is your ashes & the ocean
You passed on Halloween of '01
we gathered and cried later that day
I still wish even now
that I would have been there for your last smile
your last day, your last breath
before God called you to rest
Ashes & the ocean

no all that is left
is your ashes & the ocean
one thing though that is still with me
your beautiful loving spirit
it goes beyond anything I can touch and see
it's more than the ashes
and bigger than the ocean
it's your legacy....
