Forget the past before it consumes you
Drowning in a sea of tears,
as you look back over painful years.
Mistakes you've made more than a few,
Your failures are consuming you.
You tend to dwell on the things of the past,
as your life's passing by so fast.
You need to let go and forgive,
this process will help you to live.
If you dwell on the past for too long,
if you only think of things that went wrong.
You will stay forever stuck in your past,
your happiness will never last.
So move on there's a future for you,
just do your best in all that you do.
Put aside your past and all of your mistakes,
be sure to guard each and every step that you take.
Bad choices will lead to regret,
and your mistakes you will never forget.
So live life to the fullest each day,
making good decisions that keep sadness away.
Life can be challenging it's true,
your past comes back to haunt you.
But tomorrow is a fresh and brand new,
Forget the past before it consumes you.
