The Reality Poet

Celebrity

By:  Samantha Fitzgerel

While folding the laundry, and scrubbing the floors,
we dream of the celebrity life.
In some exotic land we've never been before,
no bill collectors, just cameras and lights.

We envy their riches and dazzling faces
through the pages of our magazines.
But what they don't tell us in their fashion statements,
is how normal they are in their dreams.

Can they play with their children, and wear normal clothes,
without the scrutiny of following eyes?
Do we let them cry tears, or even blow their nose,
without spreading gossip and lies.

We should never forget that what we see,
is through the perspective of a lens.
Respect them and give them their time that is free,
and just watch them when the movie begins...
