The Reality Poet

Glimmer of Hope

By:  Samantha Fitzgerel

Down in the depths of my darkening soul,
my thoughts long to be free.
Longing for rescue by a beacon of hope,
before this chasm of darkness engulfs me.

My depth of depression is a deep despair,
bitter tears fall as my spirit weeps.
My heart fights to beat in this suffocating air,
I am exhausted from worrisome sleep.

I search for the river of happiness,
while my soul cries to be set free.
There I will escape this lonely darkness,
while the happy waves sweep over me.

Some day soon my spirits will soar,
I will discover a glimmer of hope.
The sadness will vanish and be no more,
Its grip on my life will be broke.
