the many muscles move as one
as they fly across the track
propelling forward the great horse
his rider on his back
the finish line approaches
the horse sticks out his own nose
and finally they are under
the race is at a close
they pose in the winners circle
the jockey stands in pride
owner and trainers talk
to the press about the ride
the ones whose proudest
not jockey or friends
but the one who runs the race
and is loved however it ends
the horse gains glory
through the races he wins
when hes gone he still lives
through all his kin
