The Reality Poet
The Last Memory
By: Samantha Fitzgerel
She sits alone in her wheel chair,
you notice the look on her face.
Her mind has gone away somewhere,
to another time and another place.
The person she was is going away,
her light is fading you fear.
You know she will never come back this way,
it is a higher calling she hears.
Her time on earth is coming to a close,
her life will become a memory.
She'll be there in pictures and stories she told.
And you might see her in your dreams.
As you lovingly gaze upon her face,
you hope she remembers your name.
This will be the last memory with her you'll make,
so make the most of it today.
