The Lighthouse

Out on the ocean
Nothing out of the norm,
All of a sudden,
Brewed a violent storm.

A sailor and his boat
Being thrown around,
The mast swayed to and fro
The sailor thrown overboard, almost drowned.

He struggled for his life
Trying to find his way home,
Stuck out on the ocean
Where he shouldn't have roamed.

Lifejacket being clung
To his body so tight,
Will he make it home
On this violent night?

No one in sight
On the ocean so dark,
The waves roll over the bow
Rips the vessel apart.

The sailor sees a light
Off in the distance,
Grabs hold of the mast ropes
Tries to keep his balance.

Never again out on the ocean
Alone he will roam,
As the beacon light shines
Leads another sailor home.
