My Voice
the break
the break
The final break,
(not sharp and crisp
as I imagined
but twisted
and bent )
seizes up,
and I hear myself,
like a thousand
cicada stridently
repeating reasons
while, moth-like,
you beat yourself
against my door.
Let me in
Let me in
Let me in
Let me in
Let me in
Mary
The final break,
(not sharp and crisp
as I imagined
but twisted
and bent )
seizes up,
and I hear myself,
like a thousand
cicada stridently
repeating reasons
while, moth-like,
you beat yourself
against my door.
Let me in
Let me in
Let me in
Let me in
Let me in
Mary
