Abigail Martin
"Little Abby"
Abby had open heart bypass surgery on March 16th, 2005. The hole in her heart was discovered at 2-months of age. She has had several Echo's EKG's, X-rays, blood work and sedations her whole life!!!! She had her first surgery on August 6th, 2004 in Iowa City. At the age of 3, in February 2005, the doctors at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, determined that Abby was out of time to wait any longer for her surgery. Through fervent prayer, her surgery was successful, and while she still must be followed by the doctors, we are believing that God will complete the
GOOD WORK HE
has begun............
The workers at Kraft foods, where Abby's Daddy works, decided to host a Benefit for her, to help defray expenses, and pay some of the medical bills not covered by insurance............
I was asked to write a poem for Abby.......
Abby's Angels
God assigned a host of “Heavenly Angels”,
On the day Abigail was born,
To guide and guard her throughout her life,
To keep her safe from harm.
Her Angels whispered secrets
They told her not to tell.
There would be times, in her young life,
That would seem to be “pure hell”.
But they would bring her through it,
With Grace and Love from God above.
And she would meet “Earthly Angels”
Who would surround her with their LOVE.
NaNa and PaPa Stromer were there to “Hold me tight”,
To comfort Mommy and Daddy, help them through the night.
Sweet kisses were delivered by Papa Bob and Grandma Rain,
Just seeing them made it easier; they seemed to ease my pain.
“Grandparent Angels” stayed with Mommy and Daddy
Through the time of Abby's heart surgery.
Without these “Earthly Angels”,
I don't know where they might be!!!
“Earthly Angels” would pray for her
When she faced surgery on her heart.
“Earthly Angels” from around the world
Made unceasing prayer for Abby their “Art”.
“Earthly Angels brought food, gifts and toys,
To ease those early days,
What Abby needed most was to rest,
But she wanted most was to play.
“Earthly Angels” are here with Abby tonight
Dear God, I know that's true.
Who is this “Earthly Angel”???
“Abby's Angel”~~~is simply~~~”YOU”!!!
