Standing in line ready to fight, you see your comrads slowly fade away.
You get scared for you are afraid but you know you must toughen up
and act like a man. You're standing behind what they call enemy lines
and you're petrified.
You knew when you joined into the Military that this wasn't going to be
easy. You knew you might not make it back home and so you started
praying. You knew this was real for it isn't a dream.
Been through basic training and still are going through it but you're
strong, you're brave and I know you can do it. You write letters to
your loved ones telling them how much you care and miss them.
You tell them they are loved and soon you'll be home.
Couple months down the road, you finally get to come home.
So happy to see everyone, they cry for you for they see you've
lost a leg but you tell them it was nothing, just a little tanker toy.
You can't go back to stand in line but you can be with your family.
You dream all night and think all day about what has happened
to you and your comrads. You start to cry but suck it up for you
hear a little child's voice say "I love you Mr. Soldier, sorry you
lost your leg". The voice you heard was you when your dad was at war.
In Memory of all the soldiers who have lost a friend or loved one.
In Honor of all those who helped fight in this war and defended
our country to give us the Freedom we deserve.
Bare our cross with Honor for Freedom don't come free!
