The Reality Poet
My Baby Boy
By: Samantha Fitzgerel
*I dedicate this poem to both of my sons*
I am certain that I heard heaven sigh,
at the moment of your first breath.
You had a scrunched up face and a lustful cry,
and I knew I would Love you until my death.
I had heard your heartbeat & had seen your face,
on a machine, many times before.
Those memories have now been replaced,
the realness of you, means so much more.
I love the sweetest smell of your skin,
as you lay, snuggled against my chest.
I am now a Mother to the greatest gift,
in my eyes, you are perfect, simply the best.
I have never felt a greater joy,
feels like I'm floating on clouds so high.
I will Love & protect you, my baby boy
until the end of never, till the day I die.
