Losing My Patience

Days past on end and no relief comes
the air feels so suffocating
and I want to just scream with disgust
keeping what I want to say in check
I wait....but find my nerves on last reserves
slowing but surely losing my patience

Time moves so slow when pressure is applied
the seconds hang in the balance
whispering to you to lose your sanity
this heart is loving, just these days it feels so ugly
it's turning sour even before I turn gray
please God signal a change
my spirit is low on fuel
and I am beginning to see red in my rage

I need to breath air that isn't hatred
isn't uncomfortable cuz too often these days
I know not what to say
or do know but just can't pull the trigger
the eggshells are hurting my feet
the smiles are becoming fewer
the silence is a prelude
to all my confusion
and despite my best intentions
losing my patience.....
