Little Boy Writing!
Some days I want to hit my head against
a brick wall with sheer frustration!
I try and try and use every single bit
of patience I have, to simply get you
to focus on your page!
I help you hold your pencil and gently
guide it over the lines and letters!
I leave you for a moment to go and help
another child and when I return you
have scribbled all over the page!
I bite my tongue and change the activity
for a while to keep your attention a
little longer!
You put puzzle pieces into the correct
spaces and make towers with coloured blocks!
We sit and look at picture books and you
happily chat away and point and name
things that you know!
You giggle and dribble and smile your
gorgeous little toothless smile!
I hold that moment and keep my sanity
a little longer as I smile
at your cuteness!
Then I hand you your paper and pencil
once more. You hold it and trace over an
intire page of straight lines
all by yourself!
The moment is perfectly priceless
and for the rest of the day I seem to be
walking on air!
Joy Weare.
