M's Poetry

Here Without You

On the interstate
that song that often comes on
the one that reminds me
of your beautiful face
oh why does it have to be playing?
the words of the verses
has become my banner
it's the convergence of the saddest melody
I move forward yet remain brokenhearted
here without you

Daily life moves to the slow beats
of the same old routines
it's here I feel so bogged down
daydreams just won't do
heart stays in this chest
torn but operating
strings feel burned from being pulled
nothing is normal
here without you

Night descends on another beautiful Cali night
stars rest above this head of mine
my tears knows no bounds
out of control is all I have held
the full moon who holds the man
even him seems to be laughing
buried my hands in this warm beach sand
watching life come and go
struggling here without you
