It Made Me Think…I watched a fictional program tonight, And as funny as it was in part, The emotions that I went through, Really hurt my heart. It was all about the lives of addicts, And the debauchery surrounding them, Self inflicted suffering… And suffering over and again! I cried as I sat and watched, It so hurt the heart of me, For pain and fear were all they had! And addiction was all they could see. As I sat and watched the emotions, I thought to myself, ‘well, this is true! No matter the fact it was fiction, It was also the real facts too!' Because when I watched the feelings, And the pains that they suffered true, I know with all certainty, This could happen to me and you! When we start our journey in life, The path that we all choose to tread; Deems for us, our fate, our life, We decide if we want to be alive or dead! For the path of life is sometimes cruel, Oh yes, but we know this is true, So do we go with the flow, and destroy ourselves? Or focus and do what we have to do! Negativity isn't a part of my life, But more, the positive is important to me, For pain and fear are parts of life, But there happy is what you can make it be! And how we choose the path we take, Deems the choices, both good and bad, That becomes a part of our lives, And we can choose to make it less sad! So as you sail through this life you live, Make sure the choice for you; Is a good choice and a positive one! And do what you have to do! For an addiction confuses the mind, Distorted visions inside the head, And usually, the end result for most, Is not living, but rather, being dead. So make your positive stay alive, And lose the negative flow, The path is yours to choose, Let the positive stay and the negative go. It goes deep, deep, down, For an addition is the slippery slope; But be strong of heart, believe in yourself, And never let go the hope… Addiction is only an addiction; If you allow it to be!
