Mrs. Chipmunk And Mr. Toad

Mrs. Chipmunk was running
Through the forest one day,
Looking for some nuts
She could store away.

She went running through the flowers
Daises and purple violets too,
Stopped on a fallen log
And licked at some morning dew.

She heard a noise beside her
What was it? She didn't know,
It was a low croak
That came from Mr. Toad.

"How do you do ma'am
On this glorious morn?"
"I'm here looking for sunflower seeds
And big, juicy acorns."

"What are you doing here
So early, Mr.Toad," she asked,
"I'm taking a refreshing dip
Just fulfilling a daily task."

"I should be on my way now,"
Mrs. Chipmunk, said to Mr. Toad,
"I'll see you some other time," he said
"And be careful of that busy road."
