It is as though I am in the middle of the desert
And I am screaming to my brothers, follow me this is the way
Yet they walk foolishly around in circles of failure
And the blind fall off the cliff by the hundreds all day
It is as though I am in the middle of the desert
And as far as I can see-the misery is much
As the spirit of salvation longs for the receipt of souls
The masses cannot see or understand loves divine touch
It is as though I am in the middle of the desert
My homeland is rich and bountiful beyond compare
Yet there is no abundance of wealth and prosperity
For my nations are murdered and robbed by enemies most unfair
It is as though I am in the middle of the desert
What was a people of strong nature are now cursed as beasts
Indulging in the failures and fake benefits of life
The strongest of man are lost and succumb as the least
It is as though I am in the middle of the desert
As the blazing sun bears its heat on my troublesome brow
Tears fall for I am ultimately discouraged and weary
For there is no response or change of condition allowed
