 The Window on Yesterday

To whom it may concern
here what I have to say
I'm tired of looking through
the window on yesterday

I see a loving couple
a very happy home
standing at the window
looking through but I'm alone

There's dreams for the future
and children on the way
reflections in the glass
old memories of yesterday

Times when we were happy
tomorrows what we had
standing at the window
looking in and feeling sad

In one fragile moment
that world just slipped away
nothing lasts forever
I'm now trapped in yesterday

Many years I've stood here
looking through at the past
tears that blurred my vision
hopes and dreams that couldn't last

Now with memories fading
gone black but I'm okay
for I've finally closed
the window on yesterday
