Little Ducks!
Mother Duck leads in front
as her ducklings waddle cute,
each in hurry
to keep up
to her longer faster steps.
There is one tiny duck,
who drags behind
the stronger ones.
He flops and flaps his
baby wings to help propel
each new born step.
He struggles as he flops along
in concentration, focused firm.
Mother Duck doesn't stop and
his stronger siblings race ahead.
The little duckling keeps in pace,
never stopping, no not once.
I watch this family as I pass,
hoping that all will be well!
Joy Weare.
3rd October, 2005.
