When Will My Road Of Pain Cease?

Every year, every year, it's always the same,
I have an operation again and again!
One more to go, they say, and then its over!
Oh woe is me and my bed of clover!

I ask of this icon, Him; my God above,
To help my plight, and send me some love,
I ask of Him most every night!
To keep me strong, and give me insight!

To know what path I should follow,
Oh woe is me and my life of sorrow!
Every time they fix me, there we go again,
Another operation to face once again!

One operation to put another one right,
Then 3 more, cos I got a fright!
‘This is messed up,' they said, ‘what a pain,
Oh dear me Catherine, it's an operation again!'

Well blow me down, and shucks, oh gee!
I have a problem below me knee!
Well, it's not really that, cos I tell you true!
No way will I tell it, not even a clue!!

So one more operation, well, they tell me true!
‘Catherine; the things that you've gone through!
But don't you worry, we'll put you right!
Cos we know you never give up on a fight!'

So another operation, oh blimey again!
This bloody body is a ruddy pain!
One day in the future, (or is it in me dreams)?
I want a year free!  ‘No more operations!' I screams!

‘Oh God above, can you please hear my plea,
And take these operations away from me!
Can you just put me right, and I know I'm a pain,
But this body you gave me drives me insane!

When will my road of pain cease, Dear Lord?
Cos I have to admit, I'm feeling floored!
How much can one body bear in this life?
How much longer am I to live in strife?

Can you please give me a break Lord, cos I'm fed up!
Cos you have to admit, you overfilled my cup!'
