Fairy in the Willow Tree
O, fairy in the willow tree
Won't you come out and play with me?
Please bring a pinch of pixie dust-
So from this chair I may be free.
My legs don't work too well, you see.
Like other kids I long to be.
So if it is okay with you-
Come share your magic dust with me.
My dreams- on high they carry me.
And for awhile, I am free.
But when they're done I must wake up-
Then I recall the willow tree.
I know you're there, for I have seen
You dance beneath the moonlight beam.
Some times your pixie friends come by-
To join you in such frolicking.
My longing takes great hold of me
As I observe this gaiety.
I too would dance beneath the sky-
If from these bonds I could be free.
So fairy in the willow tree
Please shake some magic down on me.
And I will dance and run and play-
As I am sure--‘twas meant to be.
