 The Unfairness Of Angels

Fallen Angel

Like silver eyes staring out of a vacuum of darkness
The stars of heaven this evening glow with sadness
The shooting star looks not quite right tonight
Its trailing flames look out of sight
I see her wings dirty and scorched
Like an unwanted toy abused and debauched
For this is no star that falls from heavens home
This is a fallen angel, now all alone
Winds of uncertainty play with her as she falls
But I guide her gently with my calls
“Fallen angel, you are not forgotten”
“For what is heaven, but elitist and rotten”
“Fall sweet angel into the palm of my hands”
“For here you will be safe within my lands”
“Cast of your wings and please don't cry”
“I will breath life into, you will not die”
This angel fallen from space
Looks upon me with her beautiful face
Her hair as black as the evening sky
She looks at me with loving eyes and asks ”why?”
My hands gently brush against her wings
“Why?” I say, “Why do you think the bird sings?”
She shakes her head, not knowing what I mean
I tell her, “They sing to wake us from our dreams”
“But here you are safe within these worlds I bare”
“You will never fall again my angel I swear”
Her wings like her halo begin to shine
I tell her that she is free to leave as she is not mine
For angels are for all to share
I tell her as i fix her wings with gentle care
Now my angel you have a choice
As I look up to heaven and raise my voice
“God of fools here me speak”
“You have cast down your angel alone and weak”
“But my power is strong and I have brought her back”
“This Fallen Angel of hair of black”
“But she is with me now within my realm”
“And I leave it for her to choose to return”
Dawn breaks, and the birds sing so gay
“My angel, you have a choice, go back? or stay?”
Her star like eyes look deep in to me
And speaks, “I want to see your world, so much to see”
As she says makes her choice the sun shines a new
And the dark night sky turns a shade of blue
The wind is warmer now and I fade from sight
As from the shadows I see my angel, take off in flight
