Lin, The Cowgirl, Her Gun, And Her Stetson!

...A Tribute To My Friend...

Now Lin has a favourite picture of herself,
In her Stetson, toting her gun!
Good job she wasn't a farmer!
Cos she'd have them rabbits on the bloody run!
Now me and Lin go back many a year,
And every time that we met!
We would take notes on each other!
To see how many new complaints we'd get!
Now Lin would say I was the worst,
But trust me, trust me true!
Lin was knackered much more than me!
Cos of all the health stuff she went through!
We would have a laugh about it!
And every time her appointment was due!
She'd laugh at that, and say to me;
‘How many do you think they'll add that's new?'

Cos every time she went the doc,
Oh blimey, what a pain!
She'd tell me what had happened! And say,
‘I've gota go the hospital again!'
Now no matter how things were for Lin,
I can tell you this; cos it's so very true!
She's the toughest girl you could ever know!
With all the things she'd gone through!
She would always grin when we met,
As she'd tell me yet another tale!
And oh cor blimey and sugar plums,
I'd shout; ‘Lin, stop it! Cos I feel pale!'
And she would laugh her head off!
Cos she was a mischievous lass!
And quite often I would tell her;
‘Lin, you've got no bloody class!'

I remember when she told me once,
About her liver being a pain!
And how she's had to nip the hospital,
Over and over again!
I said to her one day a few months ago,
‘Lin, how are you feeling now?'
And of course, she said; ‘I'm just great!
Cos I'm a tough old stubborn cow!'
Then I got all serious; and said;
‘Lin, how do you cope with this lot?
All this bad health rubbish stuff!
Cos you should be bloody shot!!'
She laughed and told me true,
‘Cath, it doesn't faze me any more!
Cos I have come to accept my lot,
And now I know the score!'

She went on; ‘I do what I have to do!
And plod on as I do each day!
Cos honest Cath, I really mean it!
I'm really doing ok!'
And that was the last time I saw her,
But in my head she'll always stay!
As Lin, my mate, the bravest cowgirl!
Whose memory will never go away!
The toughest girl that you could meet!
And the strongest person that I knew!
And everyone who shared Lin's life;
Will totally agree with that too!
And our memories will never fade away,
No, because this is true!
As long as you think of Lin each day,
Then she is close to you!

Because in our heart we have a church,
A temple of love it is too!
And when you think of Lin, Dave,
Lin will also be thinking of you!
And for every little teardrop,
That falls slowly down our face!
It helps the healing process,
And the sadness it will chase.
And as long as you keep her memory alive,
Lin will never be far!
For she will stay right at your side,
No matter where you are!
And Lin will be immortalized on the page,
For her tribute will be on show;
All over the world, for all to read;
Of the bravest girl I had the privilege to know!

…In Memory Of Lin…Forever Remembered; With Love…
