She Sits Alone (Alexandrine Couplets)

She sits alone, upon a wet bench in the park
Waits for him, with tear stained eyes, while the skies grow dark.

He stood her up once more, after so many dates,
She wants to prove him wrong this time, so she sits, waits.

Passers by just look at her, wonder what is wrong
She wipes tears from her eyes, her heart sings a sad song.

Her hair is soaked, hangs in her face, she doesn't care
She waits for him patiently and still, she sits there.
