Fall from Glory (Inspirational)Cheers to our team. They march towards the trophy. Our hamlet swelling with pride encouraging, supporting, and rooting for these young men. As they battle with such might on a frost covered field. Not for victory alone- But rare honor, glory, pride, and love for their little home town. The wins continue to pile up like leaves from a fresh raked lawn. The autumn nights becoming cooler, the days shorter. Yet as leaves, so do tears fall. For all seasons must come to an end. Often much to soon. Thank God another will follow. Redemption will come next season. This was inspired by a local High school football team that made it to the state playoffs winning every game except the final one,the championship.Although they fell short of winning it all I was impressed with the towns support and spirit for this football team. This is also one of my first attempts at free verse poetry.I still prefer rhyming poems cause of the challenge it produces.I may try free verse more in the future its very popular.
