Innocence Lost
I still remember the world
from the eyes of a child
slowly those feelings
were clouded by what I know now
where has my heart gone
it got lost in this world
I want to go back
believing in everything
and knowing nothing at all
I still feel the sun
it hits this jaded face
it seems colder now
like innocence has bid farewell
in the eyes of a stranger
I wonder is that me now?
everything so pure has become so tainted
the only sound I hear
is the sounds of our hearts breaking
the snow has melted....the fantasy is gone
I am no longer that child
stuck between a hunger for success
and being a bitter grown up
where has my playground went to?
