The Reality Poet
The Learning Path of Life
By: Samantha Fitzgerel
I've wished upon a falling star,
I've spoke several when blowing out flames.
I've fell in love, from afar
I've lost and I've accepted the blame.
I've lived a life of mediocrity,
gave and had nothing returned.
I've bared my soul with no sympathy,
I've loved and I've been severely burned.
I've had visions of a better life,
my dreams, they haunt me still.
The victim of abuse, sadness and strife,
yet my heart is now fulfilled.
You see I've found one answer we seek,
we don't always get what we want.
We cannot demand or accept defeat,
just move forward and find our "front".
Our "front" is a goal we've given ourselves,
we've sought it since our first breath.
Though darkness may beckon, it will ultimately fail,
the truth is this, life is better than death.
