Watery color runs off the brush
Dripping down the canvas like tears
Diluted palette of sorrows
Blending together over the years
Shades of blues and purples
The colors of a bruise
Smearing together before washing away
The brush, like me, has no use
Muddied hues fading slowly
Image streaked with pain
I take this self-portrait
And set it in the rain
