Falling In LoveLove is like the elusive holy grail; Complex, confusing, intoxicating, alluring, Often mistaken for desires of the flesh, But not even close. Its power can propel us to unexplored heights Or cause an uncontrollable flat spin Into the dark abyss. Love is the secret to life, Caressing the heart, validating our being. When delicately nurtured, it thrives beyond reason, Releasing endorphins, fooling the brain. Neglect breeds collapse, despondency, Annihilation of the spirit, Teaching us the hard way why its called "falling". Some fortunate beings Are blessed with loving unions, Basking contentedly in their soulmate's energy. The others are resigned to a lifetime Of the ultimate quest; The natural high from falling in love. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
