Change is everywhere.
It is ceaseless, unending,
An important element of daily life,
Lurking within each moment of experience.
Certain changes are expected with the
Passage of time.
The reflection in the mirror shows
Time marching on.
Must it march across my face?
Some changes elevate expectancy,
Bringing optimism for the future;
A new baby, a better job,
Losing that last ten pounds.
There are also many bitter pills to swallow
As we move furtively from day to day;
Going bald, losing friends,
Death of loved ones.
The trick to absorbing the shock waves of daily change
Is to move with it, not against it.
Embrace it.
Expect to be nudged from your comfort zone.
These lessons give our lives meaning
And allow us to develop character.
Gather your strength and
Expect the unexpected,
And you shall sail gracefully
Over the many difficult waves of change in life.
