And They Test Us!For Jean... And they test us to the limits! They cause upset all the time! It drives us to distraction! Till we're not feeling fine! They push us against the wall! And corner us and make us ill, So much so, I must admit, The headache won't subside with a pill! Red tape, bureaucracy! Oh but yes, they make us pain! And the ache in the heart of those- Almost drives them insane! But time and tears will be over soon, One bright sunny day! Then is the time to begin again, For a new life will come your way! We are backed against a wall! In our fight to stay on top! But it beats us down, binds us, Until we're about ready to drop! Then of course, reality sets in! And we realise our plight! And know it's not down to us! But still we have to fight! Fight for survival, oh yes! And stay as strong as we can stay! For the truth will always out! Some time, somehow, some day! And though the screws are turning! And there's a twisting of the heart, You have to know within you true, Its time for that new start! For no, it's not our fault but theirs! But the buck is passed to us! We are expected to fall apart, Take the crap, and make no fuss! But in the cold light of day! We know they're messing with our head! And so we have to focus! And turn it around instead! And tell ourselves we did our best! Oh yes, but that's oh, so true! Then they will have to accept it! When realisation comes through! But until that day transpires, We do what we have to do! Walk forward ahead, with head held high! And to ourselves be true! Because they test us to the limit! And they test us over and again! Until they can't test us anymore, cos we stop it, so we don't go insane! So hold your head high Milady! Because the road is nearing the end! And pretty soon, know this to be so; Peace will become your friend! You will get on with your life anew! And lose the hurtful past! For your life of happiness awaits you, finally, and at last! Nothing in life comes easy; This we know is so very true! The harder the fight, the more precious it is, So do what you have to do! So stay strong of heart, and never give up, Never let go the hope! Look to the skies, where it is He resides… And He will help you cope! For God really is a good God, And He does the best He can do! He helps, not hinders, so believe in Him! Just like me and Faouzi do! And no! God doesn't punish us, By making us suffer in pain for our sin! It's just the way it is, it's meant, And everything is brought about, by Him! So don't blame God for all the bad, more; Just know this to be true! We'll only have the answers; When God makes them known to me and you! Until that day, be sure of this, He will only look to us to be true and good, At the end of the day, it's what it's about! So do what you know you should! And Jean, when in the cold light of day, Things have turned around for you! Know the yellow brick road has vanished, And God brought Faouzi back to you! Because it's only a matter of time!
