 Romantic Notions By Ivy Rose

Earth Whispers

Whispers, hear the whispers
from deep within Mother Earth.
Whispers drifting upon the clouds
of yesterday. Mother Earth celebrating
the wealth of her heritage,

"Remember those who have been,
who have lived above the Earth. Those
who are now part of the Earth, who
are the rich soil of her memories."

Their whispers fading into
the winds of time. Hear the words
of days gone by. They tell of honor,
of courage. Hear the whispers of stories
handed down from generation
to generation. New legends formed
by the dust of our Earth ancestors.

What do their whispers tell of?
How many songs do they sing? How much
of Mother Earth is woven into
each Native heart, each Native spirit?
Whispers tell their stories, give life
to their legends. Listen, can you hear
those who whisper into the wind?  Can
you feel the heart and soul of all those
who have sent us their Earth whispers?
