Every now n then
I go back aways~
To times I remember
Back in some favorite days~
Old singers I would listen to
Back when I was a lad~
Oldest country melodies
Some good times then I had~
Heros I had of the past I think about
That Id made my own~
How Id climb into bed with my mother of a mornen
And sunday mornens listen to those country true home grown~
Thought I was a cowboy then
Well I grew into one anyhows~
Been one ever since I guess
Along with horses , cattle dogs n cows~
Did all those country things back then
Some a little more country then the others~
Sang my liven heart out over time
With all my country singen brothers~
Now n then I go back in my mind
And role the memories still~
And again I sing my heart out as then
Still can n guess I always will~
They bring back all those pictures
That I have within my mind~
God how I loved being back there
Those old songs they take me home~
Special poeple that I knew
places that Ive been~
All those country miles Ive traveled
All those sights Ive seen~
Music jams with those now gone
Songs very few heard now or ever played~
All those special mempries
And all those old friends I once made~
But every now n then I go
Aways back within my mind~
Goen back to days now gone by
The days so far behind~
