The Key In The Door! Her nerves were shattered and battered, Sitting nervous, staring at the floor, Hoping for the best, fearing the worst! Waiting for the key in the door! Anticipation drives her mad! Wondering what she's here for! Trying to block it all out, As she waits for the key in the door! Shaking inside, shaking outside, Not knowing what she's there for! Dreading the next few minutes, Waiting for the key in the door! Heart is pounding, sweat is pouring, Walking and pacing the floor, Wanting to run, nowhere to go! As she waits for the key in the door! Thoughts run wild, don't know what to do, She has nowhere to go anymore, Left alone, because she won't go, And still waiting for the key in the door! Abandoned by all, left on her own, Because she can't think straight anymore, Trying to think of a way out, As she's waiting for the key in the door! She wouldn't listen, ignored her family, Not wanting her head to hurt anymore, So they left her to get on with it, Now she's waiting for the key in the door! Friends and family can't take the pain, Dreading her death, for this is for sure, He will take her life, oh, but he will, That's why she dreads the key in the door! They went to see her, talk to her, To ask her what she was there for! But they got no answer, all was still, And the key was still in the door. They found her lying in her own blood, And he, dead next to her on the floor, She was free, finally free, No more dreading the key in the door. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
