Oh To Be A Bar Of Chocolate!I believe in giving thanks; And praise when it's due With that in mind, I decided; To send this poem to you! Oh to be a bar of chocolate! Oh what bliss that would be! I could live my life in comfort, And have my chocolate for free! Cos I am a chocoholic! I have to admit that's true! But of all the manufacturers, It has to be Cadburys; you! I can-not let a day go by, And not have a chocolate bar; if I run out at night, Then I nip out in my car! And find the nearest shop, And buy my chocolate true! So here is it, a small gesture, To tell of my love for you! (Well, your chocolate anyway)! You see; I only eat it sometimes, Well, maybe twice a day, I mean, it's so expensive, The price we have to pay! It should be given free, So I could indulge and go mad! But it's just as well I can't, Cos I'd be looking pretty sad! I can take it or leave it! It doesn't bother me! But I have it every day! Cos I love that stuff you see! I hide it in my cupboard, And in my roasting tin! And oh golly, I must admit, I'm never going to be thin! You see I started on a diet, And chocolate I shouldn't add But I'm addicted, I really am! So I cheated, and that's sad! I'd rather have a chocolate bar, Than eat a proper meal, But then when I've finished it, It's sickly I do feel! So I'm going on a diet, And chocolate I won't eat! Cos I have to be quite honest; I've two bums on my seat! The Epliogue; I tried to go on that diet, Cos I was getting rather fat; But I couldn't give it up! Cos I just wasn't having that! I'm never going to give it up! Cos my chocolate is my treat! I have to say, I don't care; If there's two bums on my seat!!! I am a published poet; And a performance poet too! And I am being totally honest I bring the taste bud through! Cos I read it at every gig; And I get the same response; Women rolling laughter, As taste bud flare up at once And if you think I jest, Then let me tell you true! If you were a fly on the wall, Then you would see it too! It's all gud tho innit!! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
