A DANCING WOLF

A DANCING WOLF
Have you ever seen a wolf dancing

When my sister and I we were small
We put booties on our cat's feet
It would rather have played with a ball
It would kick and squirm - twist and wriggle
Trying to get them off - our cat was dancing
we said with a giggle

When we became teens and went to dances
We had much to learn about boys and their games
not to believe their whispers - how to read the their glances

Have you even seen a wolf dancing
I have - He was the two legged kind
Thinking he was suave and debonair
The sportiest clothes he did wear

Believed he had everyone eating out of his hand
He would put on a show dancing with the bands
He knew all the new steps and moves
Of all the girls he did chose

With legs and arms moving - his head bobbing
from left to right he made a quite an adorable site
Thinking all the girls were crazy for him
He fed us all the same line

Till one night we all met him outside
He had whispered the same thing in all  our ears
Needless to say after that --- his whispering days were few
He was de-fanged --- the poor boy didn't know what to do
He spent must of his time howling when the moon was new
