Whenever I sit my fingers go wild
Writing on bits of paper and scraps
Pencils are found in cornors and nooks
Scraps also hide under my many books
The words just flow and rhymns find their way
In a frantic display of poems and then
There I go with a sonnet or two
A jumble of words and suddenly when
I think I'm lost and all askew
I scramble around my scribbles to find
The end or the start of thousands of lines
Bad habit of mine, I quickly admit
Don't tell me forget it, or I'll have a fit!
