 My today's thoughts

TWO LITTLE GIRLS

TWO LITTLE GIRLS

When I first met my silver haired honey his hair was auburn in color
He drove a big car and had great manners
He also had something I didn't know that he had
~~ two little girls ~~
By the time he told me it was too late - I had already fallen for him
We were married in the late summer and the next year they came
to spent the whole summer with us

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They lived with their mother about a twelve hundred miles away
The first time I saw them they were so small and fragile looking
I could feel the pull of my heart strings
They perceived me that I had taking their daddy away from them
I suppose I looked at them like they were taking my husband away from me
Poor man he was caught in the middle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Each summer we would pick them up at the airport
They would be ours for three months
I was twenty one our when our daughter  was born
and twenty five when our son was born
Most of the time was great - each year we took our
vacation to the white sands of Pensacola's beaches in Florida

They grew up - married - and started families of their own
We enjoyed visits each year with them and their children
life was good
Then the younger of the two went to meet our Lord in the summer of '89
The last time I saw her we were up there visiting them
When we started to leave she hugged me and said
that she was so glad that I was in her life
Such a time of sadness for us all
Time has a way of taking away some of the grief although it is always there

Over the years they grew up into fine young women
 I suppose I grew up some too
Now Cyndy is one of my dearest friends
I love to hear her bubbling voice over the phone
"Hi, what are you doing" is the way she always starts
She is a wonderful loving woman so full of sweetness and life
her life is a joy to family and friends

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know what my life would be if they hadn't been in it
My children always looked forward each year to when their sisters were coming home
Today I am thankful for them and the time we've had together
I consider her a daughter - a comfort - and a dear friend
