As cold winds of March blast winter away,
I wait for the end of April showers.
To welcome beauty in the month of May
and the birth of such ravishing flowers.
Children outside learning to fly a kite;
Visiting the farm with newborns at play;
Morning tunes of birds singing after night;
The drive to church on an Easter Sunday;
A crack of the bat at a baseball game;
The search for morel mushrooms in the park;
Fishing for the trophy to bring me fame
and a new love to hold when it is dark.
The awe, joy and wonder that we call spring,
with hopes and dreams that this season will bring.
