How Do You Know?

They're Sneaky (Quadruple Ballad Stanza)

I had just turned in for the night
After a hot cup of coffee,
Might have stopped by, for a small bite
Or to steal some of my candy.

Thought I might have heard them tiptoe
Across my creaky bedroom floor,
And maybe heard snickers also
After they slammed the kitchen door.

Had my knickers hung on the line
Just in front of the fireplace,
They took them, before they were dry
Locked them away in their suitcase.

I thought they were my little friends
Fairies that always visit me,
They really do have some strange trends
My bloomers must be some comfy.
